Can social media help reach our business goals?

It’s frustrating when you put so much time, effort and resources into social media, but don’t get the engagement you want. It’s easy to get stuck and ask, “Is this really helping meet our business goals?” This is the question the team at Concordia Language Villages was facing when they decided to work with Onsharp. With passionate campers, educators, and families, Concordia Language Villages needed a centralized hashtag strategy to address their wide variety of programs, experiences and stakeholders.

The main problem Concordia Language Villages had was that too many unofficial accounts and hashtags existed. This made it difficult to build a centralized conversation around their programs.

 

Centralizing Conversations

Onsharp created a custom hashtag strategy for Concordia Language Villages. Based on the organization’s mission, program structure, and audience, the strategy included branded and trending industry hashtags.

In addition to the hashtag strategy, the team at Concordia Language Villages learned about tools and tips to track and measure the reach of their social media efforts. “That was one of my favorite parts of working with the Onsharp team. It was great to identify tools to fit our goals,” said Lisa Steffens, Assistant Director for Marketing and Online Services at Concordia Language Villages.

“From the beginning, one of our goals was to align our organization as an industry leader,” shared the Concordia Language Villages marketing team.  By creating a strategic plan on how to utilize hashtags in their social media presence, Concordia Language Villages was able to capture the conversations and spread their mission further.

Since implementing the strategy, Concordia Language Villages has seen great success in strengthening their brand. Through the use of popular industry hashtags, they’ve connected with individuals and organizations in the cultural immersion space. And ultimately, the solution took care of the decentralization problem they originally faced.
