New this week: portal visibility controls, dashboard calendar enhancements, faster time off approvals, employee review scheduling, QuickBooks-free timesheets, and built-in feedback submission.

Portal Visibility & External Link Settings

Admins now have more control over what users see inside the portal.

  • New settings allow admins to toggle visibility of specific portal sections.

  • Added support for linking sections to external services (for example, directing “Payroll” to a third-party system).

Why it matters: Makes the portal more flexible for companies with custom workflows or outside tools.

Company Calendar Now on the Dashboard

The Company Calendar has been added directly to the homepage experience.

  • Team Calendar UI was moved into a reusable _TeamCalendar partial.

  • Calendar logic is now powered by a new TeamCalendarViewModel for cleaner reuse and long-term maintainability.

Why it matters: Important team events and milestones are now front-and-center when users log in.

Time Off Requests: Better Manager Visibility + Dashboard Actions

HR admins and managers can now manage time off more efficiently right from the dashboard.

  • Dashboard cards now properly display direct reports’ time off requests and notifications.

  • Added the ability to approve or deny requests directly from the dashboard.

Why it matters: Faster approvals, fewer clicks, and improved oversight for managers.

Employee Review Scheduling & Management

We’ve introduced a new system for tracking and managing employee review timelines.

  • Schedule review dates

  • Manage upcoming employee evaluations

  • Keep performance cycles organized in one place

Why it matters: Helps teams stay proactive and consistent with employee development.

Timesheets Now Work Without QuickBooks

Timesheet functionality is no longer dependent on a QuickBooks connection.

  • Companies can now use full timesheet tracking even if QuickBooks is not enabled.

Why it matters: Removes friction for teams who want time tracking without payroll/accounting integration.

Admin Time Off Management Refactor

We’ve reorganized and modernized the admin experience for time off tracking.

  • Admin/HR accrual and balance tools moved from /Directory/Profile → new /Users pages

  • Redesigned accrual/balance UI with improved layouts, modals, and actions

  • QuickBooks employee mapping moved into /Users/Details

  • Legacy code removed, breadcrumbs added, and form styles standardized

Why it matters: Admin tools are now easier to find, cleaner to use, and built for long-term scalability.

Other Improvements & Fixes

A handful of important polish items shipped alongside these features:

  • Training area updated to use IDs instead of slugs

  • All known timesheet bugs resolved

  • Fixed several mobile responsiveness issues across the portal
