It’s the best time of the year – it’s the holiday season! There’s snow on the ground, the spirit of giving is in the air, and the movie Elf is on TV at least once a week. Wherever you go, this season hits you in the face with as much force as the snow that’s been coming down in North Dakota.
It’s easy to get excited about the holidays when you’re out and about. But did you know that you can get people excited about it when they go to your website, too? We got together and brainstormed a couple of ways your website can feel the holiday cheer:
Support a cause in true holiday fashion
The holidays are all about giving, right? Work with your team and select a local non-profit or cause to support throughout the season. Then, incorporate your cause into your website by adding a donation bar to your homepage, header, or footer.
A donation bar can add holiday cheer in a variety of ways. First, it’ll spread the spirit of giving through your team and through people who visit your site. This in itself has the potential to make someone else’s holiday season better. Sharing a cause that you care about with the world will also help display your company’s culture in a more prominent way, making you more desirable to work with (and for).
Showcase your company culture with a Posterboard website widget
If a donation bar isn’t something you’re interested in, there are other ways to show off your culture. The holidays bring a lot of parties, and your team is probably getting ready to dress in outrageous Christmas sweaters at your company party. Share the fun and excitement on your site with the Posterboard website widget!
This social media display is easy to embed, and it’s easy to use at your holiday party on its own. The best part? You can keep it running as long as you want! Whether it’s at your Christmas party or another company outing, this widget allows you continually display your amazing culture.
Make your logo a bit more festive
Your logo is what makes you recognizable, so this one will definitely help you share your holiday spirit. We know this one could be tricky – especially if you have tight brand standards. Nevertheless, adding a Santa hat, some holly, or mistletoe to your logo is a simple way to show the world you’re ready for the holidays.
There are a couple ways you can do this. A simple addition to the logo on your homepage is easy enough, but if you want to go all out, adjust your logo on each page no matter where it lands.
Share a holiday message with a hero spot
This option will make your holiday spirit front and center, but you can also make it more subtle if you choose. If you have holiday-themed images, a holiday card from your team, or even an image that simply says “Happy Holidays!”, placing it in your website’s hero spot is easy. If you want your holiday greeting to be more subtle, a rotating hero spot is the way to go.
