At Onsharp, we love seeing local companies, people, and groups taking part in the latest social media trends. To show our appreciation and love, we choose one amazing social media account to highlight in our High Five Friday series every other week. These accounts may excel because they used an awesome hashtag, have a stellar online presence, or are really good at interacting with their followers on social.

Get your pencils sharpened, because this week, we’re celebrating West Fargo Public Schools, who serve students in the cities of West Fargo, Reiles Acres, Harwood, Horace, and other parts of Fargo.

Nearly 140 years ago, @WFPSchools started with only 14 students, and that number has since grown to over 10,000+ students served by 2,000 staff members in 19 different facilities. It started with a simple mission: to educate today’s learners for tomorrow’s world. The bottom line? They have a heart for learning and a never-ending curiosity is what keeps this school district continuously improving year after year.

If that’s not enough to chirp about, @WFPSchools currently has 1,982 followers and 1,242 tweets on their Twitter account. From educational posts to trending hashtags, they’re on top of their tweets when it matters most.

Here’s what makes them stand out among the rest:

They send out friendly reminders

When you have a busy life, it’s difficult to remember everything, especially when your schedule is chalked full of to-do’s. @WFPSchools sends out friendly reminders for public holidays, snow day announcements, and other notifications to students, parents, and teachers when school is canceled or back in session.

They’re focused on their community

At @WFPSchools, community engagement is a strong core value. Whether it’s working on a collaborative project with another school or simply making tie-blankets for the Sanford’s Children Hospital, it’s clear they’re here to make a difference!

They stay engaged with students both on and off campus

As soon as the class bell rings, @WFPSchools is prepared to give their students a rich learning experience. As you can tell, they’re great at snapping eye-catching photos that’ll intrigue their soon-to-be Twitter followers.

They encourage learning and fun

This school district isn’t afraid to get messy and have a little fun – especially if it influences students to work extra hard on a reading assignment or class project. Learning +fun = a win-win situation for this school!

Elementary students even took advantage of the #MannequinChallenge. #TeamOnsharp is pretty impressed with their standstill poses!

They’re all about trending hashtags

Sometimes, school can make us feel like our tank is on empty. But good news – @WFPSchools is known for pumping out trending hashtags weekly to keep their followers in good spirits. They do a great job of incorporating #MotivationMonday, #WednesdayWisdom, and #FactFriday to engage with their audience.

Recognition for excellence is their forte

@WFPSchools proudly represents their teachers, students, and staff through their Twitter posts. Not only does their twitter account do fun shout-outs, but they also use their platform to heighten work and school-based performance.

A standing ovation to @WFPSchools teachers, counselors, and other staff members who’ve fiercely stepped into the world of Twitter to share their life with usMake sure to give their Twitter account a follow for some informative, motivational, and fun posts.  Keep up the great work, guys!
