What It Is: Spotify is the best way to listen to music on mobile or a tablet. Search for any track, artist or album and listen for free. Make and share playlists. Get inspired with personal recommendations, and ready-made playlists for just about everything.
Why We Love It: With a pleasing swipe animation to search through music, Spotify makes it easy to either passively or actively discover. They curate content based off people’s interests with Daily Mixes, and even allow users to explore playlists created for the time of day they are accessing the app.
Sharing amongst users is simple. So simple, in fact, that full playlists can be shared with a generated text link. Sharing a track with a friend next to you can be done with Spotify codes. Plus, each song has a scannable code that another user can snap from within their app to get directly to that track.
Spotify’s simplistic navigation makes it easy to get around, but once you dive into a track, the song takes over the full screen to clear out any other distractions.

As you scroll down, you dive deeper into the experience without overwhelming the user with too much information.
The navigation is extremely intuitive, with the majority of discovery happening right on the home screen. The app curates offers and tips based on the user’s spending habits, but makes it easy to clear them out to keep that discovery to the users interests.
What It Is: Unforgettable travel experiences start with Airbnb. Find travel adventures and new places to go faraway or near to you, and access vacation home rentals, new experiences, and places to visit all around the world.
Why We Love It: Airbnb has a minimalistic design that makes it easy for users to dive straight into what they’re looking for, or passively browse through suggested “Homes around the world” or “Experiences travelers love”. Filtering is easy and straight forward so users can get exactly where they’re looking to go. The navigation is simple and intuitive to allow users to tab through new, saved, and past vacations.
In addition, the app gives users the ability to swipe through listing photos quickly from the main screen to discover if they’d like to dive in deeper. While the design is minimalistic, it utilizes pleasing animation as users open each listing, expanding to fill the screen and auto-scrolling through listing photos.
